I hiked with a new friend today and told her how much I enjoy the company of children, particularly 2 to 5 years olds, as everything in their lives is filled with wonder, magic and discovery.  Being around them reignites my ability to see God’s fingerprints throughout the day as found in the landscape, my interactions with others, and experiences of all sorts.

God’s presence is everywhere, but I get too busy/stressed/distracted/ grown-up/self-focused to see this.  I miss many blessings, as well as the opportunity to thank God for the gifts “cast broadside by a generous hand” (Annie Dillard).  Open our eyes today, God, to your presence and the gift of abundant living!

“When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator” — Mahatma Gandhi
